Company Spotlight: Derik, Benjamin and Jessica
One of the most unique aspects of Clarus Power is its team of ambassadors, who work within their community to educate and empower individuals and ultimately help them go solar and save money on their electricity bills. Our ambassadors are motivated and social leaders who are working to create a brighter future. We are currently working on building a strong base of Founding Ambassadors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Why did you decide to start working at Clarus Power? I’m really excited about the fact that it’s a startup and a Bay Area company. I’m also looking forward to working with Page, because her passion for the company is inspiring. I believe that having a successful work experience is all about the relationships between the people you work with.
What are you looking forward to about the ambassador position? I’m looking forward to seeing the business grow. I’m also focused on creating a career path a Clarus Power and being able to work my way up through the company’s positions.
Fun fact? My favorite sport is lacrosse. I started playing in 7th grade and actually helped start the league in Napa. I also love animals and try to spend as much time as I can hiking with my dogs or hanging out with my cats.
Where are you from? I’m from San Francisco, born and raised.
Why did you decide to start working at Clarus Power? I went to University of Oregon and studied Environmental Studies there, so Clarus Power directly relates to something that I’m passionate about. My long term goal is to have my own business in sustainable interior architecture. I believe that solar power will be a big part of that so I’m really interested in learning more about it.
What are you looking forward to about the ambassador position? I think it’ll be really exciting to help Clarus Power grow and to get the information about solar energy out to people. It seems like a great team and I’m looking forward to making an impact as a founding ambassador.
Fun fact? I’m terrified of butterflies, I’ve lived in Italy and I recently won a pageant.
Where are you from? I was born in San Francisco and have lived here my entire life, so I really identify with the city.
Why did you decide to start working at Clarus Power? I’m studying mechanical engineering with minors in humanities and green engineering. The latter focuses on solar power so I’m very invested in the product as a student.
What are you looking forward to about the ambassador position? In the past, I’ve done mostly marketing, public relations and a little bit of field jobs. I’m looking to build on these skills, especially the marketing aspect.
Fun fact? I spend my spare time working with Engineers Without Borders, a nonprofit global organization. Some of my favorite projects involve working on solar panels for impoverished third world countries.
